The East Olive Early Learning Center operated by St. Johns Public Schools is seeking a Lead Teacher to manage day‑to‑day operations of an infant, toddler or preschool classroom. The Lead Teacher plans and implements developmentally appropriate activities using the approved curriculum, maintains state licensure and NAEYC accreditation standards, records daily observations and assessments, creates safe and engaging learning environments, conducts parent conferences four times per year, documents children’s progress, prepares weekly lesson plans, provides inclusive instruction for children of varying abilities, guides children’s language and conflict mediation skills, keeps accurate records and supervises associate teachers and volunteers. Qualifications include a Child Development Accreditation (CDA) or willingness to obtain within two years and one of several education/experience combinations ranging from a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education to a high school diploma with child development credits and thousands of hours of experience. Candidates must be at least 19 and able to obtain Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification and pass background checks. The role pays about $15.25–$18.28 per hour and is full time, year round.
